Chiltern Veggies
(previously South Bucks Veggies) was founded in August 2003 and has a growing membership, currently about 50. Our aims are to provide the opportunity for local vegetarians and
vegans to meet socially, share ideas and experiences, and to find ways of spreading the vegetarian
message.
We are based mostly in South Buckinghamshire and have members from High
Wycombe, Maidenhead, Marlow, Amersham, Gerrards Cross, Aylesbury, Slough and Windsor.
Several of our members are vegan.
We meet up monthly in pubs or restaurants in the area and there is no membership fee.
We also organise occasional walks, picnics and stalls at local Green
events.
As a newish group we are happy to take on ideas from new members as to
what type of activities people would enjoy doing, so please do contact
us. Even if you are not yet a vegetarian but are thinking of becoming one, we would be delighted to welcome you and perhaps give you some useful
tips from our collective experience.
The Chilterns were declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in
1965. The Chiltern Hills are a beautiful, unspoilt corner of
England. They lie only a few miles to the north-west of London and yet
have a very rural character. The Chilterns begin in Oxfordshire in the
Thames Valley and stretch north-east through Buckinghamshire and
Bedfordshire to Hitchin in Hertfordshire. See local map:-
