Eric
Slywitch
Dr.
Eric Slywitch was born on June 2, 1975. His first contact with the vegetarian
diet was during his teen years, through the martial arts (eastern philosophy).
At 17 he turned to a macrobiotic diet, after studying at Dr. Henrique
Smiths Macrobiotics Institute. Dr Henrique Smith on his turn, noticing
that Eric was interested in the study of medicine, encouraged him and
permitted him to assist during his consultations with patients. He followed
a "strict" macrobiotic diet during almost two years, using
no products of animal origin.
In 1996 he entered the Jundiaí Medical School. In the meantime he had
tried several types of vegetarian diets. During his studies at the University
he read voraciously about nutrition. He completed his medical course
in 2001. He was a Nutrition trainee at the Hospital of Beneficiência
Portuguesa in São Paulo. He post-graduated in Clinical Nutrition. At
present he is responsible for the Nutrition service in two hospitals
in São Paulo.
He
teaches nutritional therapy. He is now working only with the vegetarian
diet, providing doctors and nutritionists with consistent scientific data.
Eric Slywitch is a teacher of Svatântrya Yoga. Vegan since 1992 with emphasis
on raw food since 1998.
