Post Congress Tour

Cost U$332 ( Currency Converter ) to include breakfast, lunch and dinner, accommodation in rooms with private bathroom, all coach costs with English speaking guide and all entrance and trips costs. Snacks are not included.

Note: the tour below can be booked with the Congress fees. There will be other tours available, to 'Amazon, Brasilia and Rio' and 'Rio and Iguazu Falls' - these will have to be paid direct to the travel agents. Further details soon....


DAY 1 Sunday - 14th
Departing Florianópolis, we will travel South to Praia do Rosa where a vegan lunch will be served. Then to Laguna - the second oldest town of Santa Catarina, founded in 1676, city of Anita and Giuseppe Garibaldi, heroes of the unification of Italy. Visit to Anita Garibaldi´s House, the Brazilian with about 5 thousand busts and monuments all over Italy - and Santa Marta Lighthouse, built in 1880, with walls of 2m of thickness, the biggest in South America - the third in the world for the distance the light reaches. 

    

DAY 2 Monday - 15th
Straight on to Gramado, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul - the last one before Argentina. Stop for lunch - dinner in Gramado, the city of the most important South American Cinema Festival and an important tourist centre. Free strolling in Gramado at night.

   

DAY 3 Tuesday - 16th
Visit to the spectacular canyon Itaimbezinho - up to 720 metres (2360 feet) deep walls and Parque Nacional de Aparados da Serra, full of Araucarias - the unique Brazilian pines. Dinner and free strolling in Canela visiting also the cascade Veu de Noiva (Bride Veil). Return to the hotel in Gramado.

               

DAY 4 Wednesday - 17th
Morning city-tour in Gramado - purchase of souvenirs and famous chocolates of Gramado. Lunch in Porto Alegre - capital of Rio Grande do Sul. Return to Florianopolis, with a stop to eat a popular pie "pastel" - a kind of rissole, filled with heart of palm, corn or banana covered with sugar and cinnamon (hummmm), fresh orange or cane juice - near Laguna. Back to Florianopolis.

   

DAY 5 Thursday - 18th
City tour in Florianopolis, or trekking to wild Lagoinha do Leste with a connoisseur guide. This beach can only be reached by foot or boat - from the top of the hill one can see a wonderful view of the beach and two sweet lagoons. Return to hotel for overnight. Day 6 - 19th check out and transfer to airport.
