Financial Assistance for Delegates at the Congress

IVU and VEBU are able to offer some financial help towards the cost of the Dresden Congress

We would particularly like to help groups in the developing countries of Central and Eastern Europe to attend

Groups in other developing countries are also welcome to apply, but . . .

IVU/VEBU cannot help with travel costs, only the Congress registration, (and possibly accommodation and food for official delegates of IVU member societies)

Funds for this are limited and the final decisions will be made by IVU and VEBU

The lowest cost for the whole Congress is 560 Euros (approx. £387 / US$790 - for a shared room in the Youth Hostel: 120 euros; all meals: 300 euros; registration 140 euros). WE WILL NOT PAY TRAVEL COSTS. Please indicate the amount of grant you are requesting, in Euros, as it will help us to support more people if you can pay part of the cost yourself:

Please note: No money will be given directly to any successful applicants - it will be paid to VEBU to cover all or part of the cost of the Congress, including food and accommodation.

The deadline for applications is December 31, 2007. Decisions will be made in January 2008 and all applicants will be informed by the end of that month about how much, if anything, we are able to offer in support.
