|International Vegetarian Union (IVU)|
33rd World Vegetarian Congress
I was really reluctant to identity myself, for a couple of reasons. First, as I learnt so far from the participants, I am not an activist in any organizations as I am burried in my daily job as a lawyer in an american bank in Jakarta.
Secondly, unlike the others who has been a vegetarian for quite sometimes, I just started not long than 2 years, so in other word, sometimes I am still struggling with my past desire on foods.
Anyway, I am interested in meeting you all, as I want to learn more about your experiences and I strongly believe that since we have a similarity, despite of the races, nations, cultures etc., yet we can communicate at the same language. Please note that I am looking forward this kind of stuffs happening a lot in my life time, because if you know what's happening in our country, it is something that we all miss. Differences become a big issue in this country. Luckily, I am working in an American bank, whereby this issue does not exist.
With the hope that there will be no big issue happening on December forward, I will take my holiday to USA first, and Chiang Mai will be the last destination before I go home.
I am 37 and still single, and I'm the only one in the family who chooses to be a vegetarian, but so far we can manage this out.
The idea to dress up our own custume is a good idea, but not for me from Indonesia...wow...., I will definitely look like an odd lady from out of space. But, fortunately, Vanessa mentioned it should not be an issue anymore, although I would like to see how Alex is dressing up with Brits, and if Alex is going to do that, you do not have to bring your umbrella, you can combine that with Thai's one, if I am not mistaken at the same time there will be an umbrella festive in Chiang Mai, isn't it?.
Last but not least, is there any other participants from Indonesia? Just curious, if there is any, would appreciate if I could communicate with them.
Look forward to see you all (hopefully...).
