First International Meeting on Vegetarianism and Animal Rights 5th to 8th June 1997 - Tossa de Mar, Girona, Spain Español
The aim of this international meeting is to establish common links and strategies which help to provide answers to the many problems generated by the prevalent culture of violence and the lack of an ethical, environmental or nutritional conscience. Vicki Moore (seriously injured while filming the running of the bulls in Coria), will be among the personalities and animal rights activists attending. The programme will include talks, discussions and workshops on various topics relating to diet, health, animal exploitation and environmental issues, and also leisure activities. The mayor of Tossa, Sr. Telm Zaragoza i Reig, a well known opponent of bullfights, will address the participants during the inaugural dinner. The venue is the Hotel EuroPark, located in the Avenida, Costa Brava, Tossa de Mar, where all programme activities will be held. Participating groups will also be able to display information, materials, books and any other promotional items, in the various rooms available during the four-day event. Full board arrangements at the EuroPark Hotel will consist of buffet-style Mediterranean vegan catering, with lacto-vegetarian additions, from lunch on 5th June to breakfast on 9th June.
Registration and paymentThe total cost for the full four-day event at the EuroPark Hotel is just £100 (23,500Ptas.), including accommodation in twin or three-bedded rooms, all meals and registration.
