THE 12TH CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL VEGETARIAN UNION
AT OOSTERBEEK, ARNHEM (11th to 17th JULY, 1950).

Programme of Proceedings.

TUESDAY, 11th JULY.

2-0 - 5-30 p.m. Reception of guests. Registration.
6.0 p.m. Dinner, preceded by a short welcome by the spokesman of the Nederlandsche Vegetariersbond.
8.0 p.m. Welcome by International Vegetarian Union President, W. A. Sibly, in the Congress Hall, and brief speeches by delegates.

WEDNESDAY, 12th JULY.
9.0 am. Open session for brief reports by delegates.
2.0 p.m. Closed session for delegates only to discuss Admissions, Chairmen, and Constitution.Visit to Exhibition at Arnhem for others.
8.0 p.m. Lantern Lecture by W. A. Sibly: " A Vegetarian Wanders Around the Commonwealth." Mr. Sibly will deal especially with Australasia.

THURSDAY, 13th JULY.
9.0 am. Lecture by Kirstine Nolfi (Denmark)
2.0 p.m. Lecture by Dr. C. J. Schuurman (Holland): The Psychology of Vegetarianism Especially Relations between Parents and Children."
8.0 p.m. Lantern Lecture by Ir. H.A.M.C. Dibbits, " Dutch Polders."

FRIDAY. 14th JULY.
Full Day Excursion :-
9.0 am By train to Utrecht.
10.0 am. By touring car to Rotterdam-Waalhaven, via Maastunnel.
12.0 pm Pleasure boat through harbours to Elshout.
3.0 pm Return Utrecht by touring car and by train to Oosterbeek; arrive 6-0 p.m.
8-9.0 pm Closed session for Delegates only, to decide on motions to be drafted for presentation to final session of the Convention.
9-0 a.m. Lecture by Kaj Dessau : "The Future of the Inter-national Vegetarian Movement."
2-30 p.m. Lecture by Roy Walker: "The Coming World Famine."
8-30 p.m. Festive Evening; Music, Films, etc.

SUNDAY, 16th JULY.

Morning free.
2-3.0pm Closed session for Delegates to approve motions.
3.0 pm Lecture by American Vegetarian Union speaker.
8.0pm Lecture by Dr. Voute (Holland) :" Biological Equilibrium."

MONDAY, 17th JULY.
9-0 a.m. Closed session to elect I.V.U. Officers.
9-30 a.m. Open session to report elections and approve motions, which will become Convention resolutions
1-0 p.m. Visit to country; " De loge Veluwe."
6-30 p.m. Farewell Dinner.
8-0 p.m. International evening, with camp fire.
