14th World Vegetarian Congress 1955

From the Vegetarian Messenger, (the magazine of the Vegetarian Society, based in Manchester, England) :

The Fourteenth World Vegetarian Congress will be held from 31st July to 6th August, 1955.

The total cost including accommodation, meals, and Congress is 13,000 francs.

Reservations should be sent as soon as possible to the Congress Secretariat, M. et Mme. Brobecker, 21 Rue de Diane, Argenteuil, with the booking fee of £1. To facilitate this payment, and if desired, the whole Congress fee, special arrangements have been made with the American Express Travel Agency (any branch) to receive your money. This Company will also provide a travel advice bureau and bureau de change on the Congress premises - La Cit/e -Universitaire. (Note: Notify the Congress Secretariat however the fee is transmitted.)

An excellent panel of speakers has been appointed for the main addresses. These include the I.V.U. President, Mrs. Clarence Gasque, Mr. Woodland Kahler (U.S.A.), Dr. Jean Nussbaum, (France), Dr. Jacques de Marquette (France), Professor Aldo Capi-tini (Italy), Dr. Douglas Latto (United Kingdom), and Dr. Ralph Bircher (Switzerland). Copies of the lectures will be available in English,.French, German, and Swedish at the time of delivery at the Congress.

The Congress Committee is considering a Youth Camp just outside Paris during the period. Anyone interested should write to the General Secretary, I.V.U., 101 Harestone Hill, Caterham, Surrey. All bookings should be made before 1st May, 1955.
