TO BELOVED INDIA

GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL VEGETARIAN UNION

The whole world is awaiting a pattern as a guide towards the understanding of Life. The study of objectivity in itself gives no hint. It is India which has in her great past revealed to Man that Life is not for men to destroy nor furthermore that he should destroy himself by polluting his holy body with partaking of death in his feeding.

Again may India point the way towards true peace through the appreciation of the fact that ALL LIFE IS ONE and that God is Life.

In the most ancient literature of the Orient all find the outline for a state of Peace upon Earth. A sage was asked : "When will the struggle cease upon this earth?" The answer was: "As soon as all human flesh that is sustained by corpses has reached corruption, Then the products of the earth shall be the food of man, Then man will realize the true love of Heaven and the sweet love of the Earth and Peace shall reign in the hearts of all mankind."

May that day be hastened through this great Congress in dear India!
