17th World Vegetarian Congress 1963
Barcelona, Spain

Pre-Congress notice, from The British Vegetarian, Jan/Feb 1963:

I.V.U. SPANISH CONGRESS

The International Vegetarian Union's World Congress, at Barcelona, postponed in 1962 because of the smallpox outbreak, is now fixed for June 23rd-29th, 1963. The 23rd is a Sunday, and registration will open in the morning-foreign visitors are advised to arrive on the Saturday, June 22nd, and arrange to leave on the 30th, a Sunday.
Dr. V. L. Ferrandiz and his colleagues in Spain, with the co-operation of the I.V.U. President, Woodland Kahler Marquis de St. Innocent, who now lives near Barcelona, have arranged a very interesting programme. Those who are attending more for a holiday than for the business sessions will find special arrangements for their entertainment.

The civic authorities, who are endeavouring to make Barcelona a centre for international congresses, are co-operating, and it is expected that we shall have the use of a splendid new pavilion equipped with the most modern simultaneous translation system.

Spain can be relied upon to provide perfect weather, and the occasion should be of enormous interest to all attending.

Delegates are asked to make their own travel arrangements. though Academy Travel Ltd. (see advertisement) may be organising a party or parties for British visitors.

Preliminary details and application forms may be obtained from: The International Vegetarian Union, Bank Square, Wilmslow, Cheshire.
