Names Representatives For Australia, North America
ORONO, MAINE - The International Council (governing body) of the International Vegetarian Union held its annual meeting on the campus of the University of maine at Orono recently, in collaboration with the Board of Trustees meeting of the North American Vegetarian Society.
Among IVU officials present were IVU president Dr. Gordon Latto of London [top left], and General Secretary Brian Gunn-King [bottom left] of N. Ireland, both of whom flew over for the meeting. Mr. Gunn-King also went on to Toronto, to address a special meeting of the Vegetarian Society in that city.
Following an extensive tour and inspection of the beautiful Orono campus, the IVU Council enthusiastically approved and endorsed the selection of the site of the 1975 World Vegetarian Congress.
In other business, Bruce Standish was named IVU General (sic) Secretary for Australia (sic) [= Regional Secretary for Australasia], and Brian Graff [above right] was appointed IVU General (sic) Secretary for North America.
Mr. Graff has initiated vigorous and progressive action and forward looking leadership, in the organization and spreading of the message of vegetarianism throughout the U.S.A. and Canada.
