UNITED STATES : PORTLAND OREGON. - In this city we have a Vegetarian Society, which meets the first Tuesday in each month, in the parlours of the World's Advance Thought. It is in a flourishing condition. Wm. H. Galvani presides; he is an earnest and active worker. He lets no opportunity pass to impress upon people the necessity of giving up the use of flesh food. There are many who come to these meetings to oppose vegetarianism who become converts after talking the matter over. Many people imagine, because of the name vegetarianism that it means to subsist on a diet of vegetables only, but this is an error. - World's Advance Thought.
