EXTRACTS FROM REPORT.
During the season 60 Board Schools have been visited, and when
it is estimated that never less than 100, and more often 200 and
300, children are addressed each time, it will give some idea of
the important place this work ought to occupy in our movement.
Several grants of literature have been made to the local Vegetarian
Societies. A Certificate for the Gold Medal was awarded for the
Literature stall at the East End Exhibition, People's Palace, Mile
End Road, E., and a Diploma for the Silver Medal at the Cookery
Exhibition held at Niagara.
The number of Members and Associates added to our list is small
this year, but when it is borne in mind that there are now some
12 local Societies in different parts of the Metropolis, all striving
to add fresh names to their particular branch, we need not be surprised
that in this respect the Central Association suffers.
Judging from the amount of correspondence sent out and received,
a great number of people have been approached on the subject, with
what, result remains yet to be seen, for during the, past year 3,442
letters, post cards, and telegrams were received, whilst 21,564
letters, post cards, parcels and telegrams were despatched.
Representatives on V.F.U. Committee : Regular, Mrs. McDOUALL.
Alternative, Mr. G. A. SMITH.
