Speaker: Dr John Wedderburn
A series of slides explaining the basics of vegetarianism was presented.
Dr Wedderburn is a medical doctor who has lived in Hong Kong for 28 years and has followed the vegan lifestyle since 1987.

Ethical Veganism
Speaker: Ms Diana Cox
The talk presented some of the ethical objections to meat eating, tracing a tradition that has been evident throughout history. The ideas of a variety of prominent philosophers will be touched on to support the notion that animals are not put here for our use but have the right to be treated humanely and with respect. Such treatment forbids the exploitation and cruelty of the meat industry.
Ms Cox, who has worked in Hong Kong for almost 10 years, is a philosophy graduate with a major interest in ethical theory. As a committed vegan she believes that all animals are worthy of moral consideration and should not be used as a means to the end of human gratification.
