Welcome to the homepage of
the Hong Kong Vegan Society!
This homepage gives a short description of what veganism stands for.
Here, you'll find links to some really interesting sites which will give
you lots more information. You'll also find information on veganism and
vegetarianism in Hong Kong. So whether you're a vegan, thinking of
becoming one, interested in local vegan/vegetarian restaurants
or just visiting Hong Kong, please read on.
So what is a vegan?
In short, a vegan is a person who dispenses with food and clothing
derived from animals. Unlike many vegetarians, vegans do not consume any
dairy products and most don't touch honey either. People around the world
turn to veganism for various reasons. They may be practising Buddhists,
concerned about the treatment and suffering of animals or simply looking out
for their health.
Your comments and opinions are welcome. We
try to organise a meeting during the last week of every month at a
different restaurant. If you're a vegan, interested in learning
more about veganism or hoping to visit Hong Kong in the future, you're
very welcome to join us. Don't hesitate to contact us
at the email address below to reserve your place. We look forward to meeting
you!
