SPRING MEETING:
1.Saturday 12th
April
Outing to Arlington Bluebell Woods. Meet there about 11.30.
at the entrance. There is a cafe but it would be prudent to
bring sandwiches in case the veggie option is not good.
As usual we shall try to go in as few cars as possible so if
you can offer or need a lift please call me. It is between the
A22 and A27 after Polegate and on the way to Michelham Priory
and Hailsham. Let's hope for good weather.
2.Saturday 26th April
Meet at Underground theatre in Eastbourne, between 10 and 12.
There is a cafe and there will be musical entertainment. One
of our number is playing piano there for some of the time.
Afterwards we shall have a brief lunch (suggest soup at the
Enterprise Centre cafe) then walk or drive to my house for a
charity money raising afternoon tea in aid of the Blue Cross.
I shall provide tea, biscuits and cake at about 3 o'clock and
you give a donation.
3.Saturday 17th May
Outing to Hugletts Wood Farm near Heathfield. It is a vegan
farm with rescued farm animals. It is an open day and there
will be vegan food available. Meet at the entrance at about
11.00.
Hope to see you soon Helen.

ALL VEGGIE WOMEN EVERYWHERE,
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, MARCH 8TH 2008. IWD
Carnivores or Vegans: who’s saving
the planet?
Can a meat-free diet reduce one person's impact
on the environment even more than giving up their car or forgoing
several plane trips a year, or would a vegan diet destroy the
British countryside as we know it? With animal emissions accounting
for 18% of total greenhouse gases, what is the future for meat
eaters, meat producers and the British countryside?
Speakers include Martin Tebbutt of Boathouse
Organics, livestock farmer, Michael Fordham, Tony Wardle of
Vegetarian campaign group, Viva! And Craig Sams, chair of The
Soil Association. Chaired by Joyce Edmond Smith of Brighton
and Hove Council’s Sustainability Commission.
