Waitrose deserves a special mention as they stock only free range
eggs and are now including free range eggs in their own product
section, they also stock a good range of organic foods a 'free from'
dairy, eggs & wheat range. Check out their specialist foods
for products such as silken tofu - normally only available in health
food shops. They have a good range of veggie ready meals.
Marks and Spencer’s
range of
vegetarian ready made meals, buffet party food and desserts continues
to expand. All eggs used in their vegetarian range of products are
free range, this includes desserts and chocolates.
Sainsbury’s
now do vegan ‘milk’ chocolate bars in
their ‘free from’ range, they also do a good dairy free
cream cheese. Their vegetarian range expands which is all good news.
Co-op All
Co-op’s own brand are marked if they are suitable for vegetarians
and vegans.
Hailsham Health Food Shop:
stocks some of Fry’s animal free products such as sausages
and burgers, also Realeat and occasionally some Redwoods. They stock
Toffutti dairy free ice-cream and Swedish Glace, also some Gluten
Free products. However their range is small and often things have
to be ordered.
Holland & Barrett in Hastings
have an excellent range of veggie/vegan products,
but for the most extensive range, from gluten free to vegan cheese,
it has to be Infinity Foods in Brighton. (Don't forget, vegsoc members
get a discount on H&B goods).
CHOCOLATE: The
Cocoa Tree all their
products are suitable for vegans. click on the name to go to their

Green & Blacks organic
chocolate Fair Trade and some of the range is suitable for vegans.

store is in Brighton, wonderful selection of organic chocolate -
a real vegan's delight as they have a good range of both vegan and
