IVU International Council Meeting #1 - DRAFT Minutes

Attendees: Vanessa Clarke, Saurabh Dalal, John Davis, Tina Fox, Francisco Martin, David Pye, Jashu Shah, Hildegund Scholvien, Paul Turner, Stephen Walsh, Marly Winckler

1. The plan and agenda for the IVU General Meeting (Wed 10 Nov 2004) was discussed and finalized. Tina was asked to Chair the meeting and Stephen volunteered to take minutes. Saurabh would print out 5 copies of the agenda and also create a few Powerpoint slides so they can be projected on the large screen. David has the Treasurer's report in Powerpoint format. Saurabh would work up the system for voting slips from a list of current member organizations.

2. David suggested the IC discuss two items at the second IC meeting (with the incoming IC):
a. the Mehta, Mankar, and Patron's funds
b. IVU charitable status in the UK

3. Since the incoming IC would have at least 5 open slots, co-options were discussed briefly. Anyone the IC felt needed to be co-opted immediately could be added at the 2nd IC meeting and others could be considered as part of the ivu-c discussion list. Several people had either expressed interest or were named for consideration:

4. The theme and logo for the 2008 WVC needs to be explored.

5. The next IC meeting was decided for Fri 12 November at 3 pm.
