This document is 'Appendix B' to the IVU Bylaws.

As well as the responsibilities specified below, all IC members shall perform such duties as may from time to time be delegated to him/her by the IC.

Chairperson (George Jacobs, elected July, 2008)

The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the IC.

Deputy Chairperson (Saurabh Dalal, elected November, 2004, relected 2006, 2008)

If the Chairperson is not present or there is none in office, the Deputy Chairperson shall preside at meetings. If neither the Chairperson of the IC nor the Deputy Chairperson is present, a Chairperson shall be elected by the meeting.

Treasurer (David Pye, coopted February 1999, elected 2000, 2002. 2004. 2006, 2008)  

The Treasurer shall be responsible for supervising the financial affairs of the IVU and for placing the assets of the IVU under the direction of the IC. S/he shall deal with all financial matters specified in the Bylaws unless IC delegates any such matters to others.

IVU Online News Editor (George Jacobs, appointed October 2006)  

Shall be responsible for compiling and editing IVU Online News.

Global Press and Media Officer (Gerry Coffey appointed 2008)  

Shall be the main person responsible for dealing with media enquiries, making representations on behalf of IVU and for promoting the image of IVU.

The regional representative shall be responsible for co-operation with any regional vegetarian body and for overseeing the promotion of IVU within their region.

IVU Manager (John Davis, appointed 2006)

Non-voting member of IC. Combines the former roles of Webmaster, Membership Secretary and general admin.

Shall maintain membership records, receive membership applications and process them, ensure that money is paid into the IVU bank account and that the Treasurer is kept informed about the receipts and membership.

The role the IVU Webmaster/Internet Co-ordinator

• shall maintain all internet resources in consultation with the International Council (IC)
• shall implement any specific decisions of IC in regard to any aspect of the internet.
• shall ensure that at least one other person has password access to each resource, for use in case of emergencies.
• shall encourage involvement from, and co-ordinate the activities of, technicians and translators.
• shall maintain an online document 'Guidelines for the use of the IVU Internet Resources'.
• shall endeavour to generate income from the internet to support the work of IVU.
• shall endeavour to provide internet resources for any organisation which is a full member of IVU.
