Article from the Globe & Mail, Wed. Oct 20th, 1999. "A vegan who says cheese" - Lunch with Bryan Adams by Jan Wong

Adams has been a vegan for the past decade [goes into some detail about what he was eating].

from an interview on peta.org.uk (undated as always)

I've been vegetarian for about 17-18 years now, since I was about 28. And of course, my motto has always been "If you love animals, don't eat them". . . the moment I began to understand what was going on with the treatment of animals, it led me more and more in the way of the path I am [on] now, which is a complete vegan.

He was 28 in 1987, so this interview must have 2004/5. The first quote would make him vegan from 1989.
