Leonard Cohen (1934- )

Leonard Norman Cohen, CC, (born September 21, 1934 in Westmount, Quebec) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet and novelist. Cohen published his first book of poetry in Monreal in 1956 and his first novel in 1963.

  • A Toronto Vegetarian Assoc. 1996 pamphlet listed him as a vegetarian.
  • From The Guardian (UK) 2004: From 1965 to 1968 he was a vegetarian. A few years later, he took up yoga. (the article was also copied onto http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/timdelisle.html, a tribute site)
  • Some reports say that he introduced the model/singer/actress Nico to vegetarianism during this time.
