Trail Mix
Recipe By : Vegetarian Times; Serving Size: 16
- 4 cups crispy rice or corn cereal squares
- 3 cups asian rice crackers
- 1 1/2 cups dried peas
- 1 cup chopped walnuts -- (optional)
- 1/2 cup honey or rice syrup
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 cup crumbled -- dried nori
- 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
In large roasting pan or baking dish, mix cereal, crackers, peas and
walnuts.
In medium saucepan, combine honey or rice syrup, oil, margarine, soy
sauce and sugar.
Cook over medium heat, stirring, until margarine melts and mixture
is thoroughly heated, about 5 minutes.
Pour mixture over dry ingredients in pan; toss to mix.
Bake until mixture is crisp, stirring every 15 minutes, about
1 hour.
Add nori and sesame seeds during last 15 minutes of baking time.
Makes about 8 cups.
