Stir-Fried
Vegetables (Pad Pak)
From: adam Wetstein
- 1 broccoli head, cut into thin 2" long sections
- 1/2 red pepper, cut into thin 2" strips
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3-4 squirts soy sauce
- 2-3 shakes fermented soy bean sauce
Heat a little oil in a wok (try sesame oil) and toss in garlic, stirring
briskly for 30 secs.
Quickly add veges and sauce and a little water and stir fry for about
a minute.
Variations:
Use any fairly firm vegetable with this style of stir fry, like
zucchini, cauliflower, asparagus, carrots, or green beans.
Quartered mushrooms are also nice.
Be sure to slice vegetables thinly and of similar sizes so they
all cook at the same time.
You can also add softer vegetables like bean sprouts or coarsely
chopped greens in the last 20 or so seconds of cooking.
