Masala

Opening comments: 4 people, about 30 mins.
- 2 cups chick peas or garbanzo beans
- 1 big onion (grated)
- Paste of 2 garlic cloves + 1 ginger (2 inch)
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 1/2 (half) tsp turmeric pwd
- 2 tea bags.
- 1 tsp armchur pwd
- corriander leaves for garnish
Heat on a low flame the below and make a mixture of it.
Mixture of dry spices:
1 tsp peppercorns
4-5 cloves
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tso corriander seeds
2 cinnamon sticks (1 inch)
3-4 cardammom
1)soak the chick peas overnight in water.
2)pressure cook chick peas with the tea bags and some salt.the
chick peas will now look brown after boiling.
3)heat oil in a vessel, add bay leaves, and then the grated onion.cook
till tender and add ginger garlic paste.cook for 2 mins and add
the boiled chick peas but donot add water. thoroughly mix it and
add the spice mixture, turmeric pwd and salt.Cook it for 5 mins
and mow add about half a cup of water (u can use the water used
for boiling) and the armchur pwd. cover and cook for 5 mins.garnish
with corriander leaves.
If u wanna make more spicy can add garam masala or red chilli
pwd.this is little lenghty procedure but once u make it i bet u
will never eat channa masala outside.
