This recipe uses chick peas instead of lentils but tastes very
good and is low in fat and no meat products:
Yield: 4 servings
- 1 440 g can chickpeas; drained and pureed
- 1/2 medium onion; grated
- 1 medium carrot; grated
- 2 tablespoons Indian relish or pickle
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 3 tablespoons oatmeal
- flour; to coat
- 1 tablespoon oil
Thoroughly mix the first 8 ingredients and shape into 8 balls. Flatten
into burger shapes and coat with a little flour.
Heat the oil and fry the burgers in batches for 10-12 minutes.
Serve with a tomato and cucumber salad.
