Khichdi

Serves 4 persons, takes 30 to 40 minutes to cook
- 250 gms of basmati rice
- 50 gms of tuwar ki daal
- Three table spoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves
- 2 elaichi
- 2 small cinnamon sticks
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 green chilli
- 1 tea spoon of Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tea spoon turmeric
- and salt to taste
Pour vegetable oil into the vessel,allow it to heat, add chopped
onions along with cloves, elaichi and the cinnamon sticks. Fry them
till the onions become soft.
Now add salt, ginger garlic paste,turmeric and green chilli.
Add the rice along with the dal, and then pour required water,
if you're taking 2 cups of rice pour four cups of water, that means
water should always be double the amount of rice. Now leave it to
cook on high flame for 10 to 15 mins, then when it comes to boil
leave it on simmer flame.The khichdi is ready to serve.
Easy to cook, tasty to eat.
