Tomato Rice

From: Ambica, Polasa, India
serves 4 members and cooking time is 25-30 minutes
- Basmathi/normal Rice---> 2 cups
- Tomatoes--->3 or 4 Big size
- Onions---> 1 Big size
- green chilles -->5
- Bunch of Mint leaves
- Bunch of corriander leaves
- Green Peas ---> 1/2 cup
- curry leaves ---. 1 or 2 strings
- ginger-garlic paste ---> 2 tbsp
- bay leaves -->2
- dhaniya powder --->1 tbsp
- Garam masala-->2 tbsp
- turmeric -->1/2 tbsp
- oil ---> 5 spoons
- salt to taste
First soak the rice and keep it aside for some time.
Cut the onions into length wise.
Cut the tomatoes into length wise (big pieces).
Split the chilles into half .
chop the mint leaves and corriender leaves.
Now take a deep nonstick pan and add oil to the pan.
After the oil gets heated now add bayleaves, chopped onions, fry
till the onions are half cooked,then add ginger garlic paste and
fry till the raw smell goes,
to this add splited chilles, green peas, chopped mint and cooriander
leaves, curry leaves and cook for 1 minute,
then add garam masala, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder and finally
add chopped tomaotes and allow to cook for 2 minutes,
when the tomatoes are half cooked add the rice and pour water in
proposinate ratio (2 cups of rice 4 cups of water).
Finally add salt and let it be cooked under sim for 20-30 minutes.
Finally garnish with sliced almond and corriander leaves
