Potato Palia

Aleyamma's recipe. 4 Servings.
Cooking time 20 mins or less.
- 3 medium potatoes - cubed
- 3 shallots or 1/2 a large onion- chopped fine
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp lime juice
Peel and cube potatoes (1/2 inch cubes).
Heat oil, add mustard and fennel seeds.
As soon as mustard seeds 'pop' add onion, turmeric powder and stir
well.
Add cubed potatoes.
Stir fry till all the potato cubes are well coated with the spices.
Add enough hot water to just cover the potatoes to steam cook them
(12-15mins)
Turn off the heat and stir in the lime juice.
Serve with nan,chappatis or pitta bread.
