Dianne and
Sean's Homemade Trail Mix
from Dianne Hemming - Northern
Alberta, Canada
Combine equal amounts of the following in resealable bags for use
in camping, hiking , bike riding or family fun.
You can substitute favorite dried fruits or mix and match.
I use organic dried fruit whenever it is available.
If there are allergies, substitute allowed nuts and fruits.
- unsalted pumpkin seeds
- unsalted sunflower seeds
- dried pineapples (cut up)
- dried dates (cut up)
- banana chips
- dried mixed fruit mix (cut up)
- currants
- raisins
- unsweetened coconut
- pecans
- peanuts
- pine nuts
- cashews
- walnuts
Combine and enjoy. Keep covered tightly in the fridge when not snacking.
I am a mother of four and am concerned with the amount of processed
foods in their diets.
We live in a semi-isolated area (Northern Alberta) and the local
stores do not carry vegetarian recipe books, nor does our local
library.
In Alberta (Canada's Beef Country) it seems that being a vegetarian
or even semi vegetarian is not politically correct.
I would like to exchange recipes that I have found over the years
with other people in similar circumstances.
