Vegan Musical Evening - A Report
On 25th January, 2009, Indian Vegan Society organised the Vegan Musical Evening at Sri Siddhivinayaka Residential School, Hattiyangadi, Udupi Dist., Karnataka, India.
While we had a number of veg singers performing at their best from 2 in the afternoon till 8 in the evening, for a very receptive audience comprising prominent members of the society, Siddhivinayaka Residential School, a vegetarian boarding school, played a perfect host by providing a very good, well arranged place for the evening and later a very tasty simple vegan dinner, all without charging anything either to the Indian Vegan Society or to the audience.
During the break, for about 30 minutes, Vn.Shankar Narayan, President of Indian Vegan Society and IVU Regional Coordinator for India, South/West Asia gave a brief account of the organised Veg Movement, International Vegetarian Union and Indian Vegan Society and answered a number of questions posed by the audience.
The event was supported by the International Vegetarian Union (IVU), Sangeetha Bharati Trust Kundapura, Karthik Scanning Centre, Kundapur and Krishna Music Academy, Honnavar.
