THE VEGETARIAN CHARITY
(Reg No 294767)

Being an amalgamation of the Vegetarian Children’s Charity and the Vegetarian Home for Children (Jersey CI)

The Vegetarian Charity exists to help needy vegetarians and vegans under the age of 26 years. It also aims to promote knowledge of vegetarianism among young people under 26 years. Grants may be made for suitable projects in any part of the world. Help can be given for particular educational courses and the relief of poverty. Grants are available without consideration of ethnic origin, race or religion. The charity is UK based but considers applications from any country. Grants tend to be for amounts up to £1,000 but higher amounts may be granted for particular projects of high merit. Each application is considered on its merit and it is not possible to say in advance whether or not it will be successful.

When considering applications the Trustees take into account efforts made by applicants to improve their financial situation. Any evidence of employment or efforts made to find work (or conversely reasons why they have been unable to do so, such as medical certificates) should be included.

Should you submit an application with all the appropriate information this will be circulated to our Trustees. If their decision is favourable then your three references will be taken up. We will let you know the Charity’s decision just as soon as the due processes have been completed.

Contact the Grants Secretary, M. Chatfield - vegcharity@ivu.org - if you require further guidance.

(All correspondence must be conducted by letter or e-mail. No telephone calls can be accepted).
