With the 33rd World Vegetarian Congress at Chiang Mai, Thailand, just days away, we focus on our connections to the worldwide vegetarian movement through VUNA's participation in the International Vegetarian Union. In addition to the international perspectives available to us through publications like IVU News and opportunities to provide support to fledgling vegetarian groups throughout the world, IVU membership brings some very practical benefits to all member groups and individual members, as John Davis of Britain explains below.

Peter McQueen brings us up to date on how the VUNA Council is using the Internet to move the vegetarian message forward to the 21st century and describes the progress of several innovative VUNA projects.

Nancy Winemiller, Manager of the VUNA Food Fair Manual Project, tells what to expect in this long-awaited and much-needed publication and looks for your input.

Finally, Dennis Bayomi announces the Vegetarian Article Syndication Project, which will help local groups make their newsletters more informative and authoritative by making available short articles written by experts.

Exciting times await the worldwide vegetarian movement, if we take advantage of new means for getting the word out.
