Winemiller Explains the Vegetarian Food Fair Manual Project |
Vegetarian food fairs are effective outreach events that educate
large audiences about the relationship between vegetarianism
and human health, the environment, and the welfare of farm animals.
Many organizations have organized and held successful food fairs,
and many others have an interest in planning such an event in
their area. To assist all organizations in planning and holding
their events, VUNA is producing a vegetarian food fair manual.
The focus and content of the manual will be shaped by input
from vegetarian organizations throughout North America, including
those that have not yet held vegetarian food fairs. The goal
is to produce a manual that will benefit all organizations who
want to hold a vegetarian food fair, regardless of the size of
their organization or their experience with planning similar
events. The participation of many vegetarian organizations will
be the key to producing an effective manual.
Additional information will be available soon, and a survey
is currently being developed to gather information about the
needs and expectations of potential users of the manuals. If
you want further information about the project or would like
to add your name or organization to the list of participants
in the project, please e-mail me at nw26@cornell.edu.
The scheduled month of completion for the manual is fall 1999.
