Bayomi Describes the Vegetarian Article Syndication Project |
Consistent with VUNA's mission "to promote a strong,
effective, cooperative vegetarian movement throughout North America,"
this project will facilitate the sharing of articles among North
American vegetarian groups for publication in their newsletters.
In addition this project will attempt to collect and distribute
accurate and timely articles, preferably written by leading experts
in the field.
Articles will be available free to VUNA member groups and
will also be made available to member groups of the International
Vegetarian Union (IVU) through the IVU-Editors e-mail list. The
net result should be better and consistent information distributed
to the readers of local vegetarian group newsletters.
We are encouraging experts in the field--researchers, dietitians,
physicians, scientists, etc.--to submit short articles from time
to time. We hope to have five or six new articles in the collection
each year. Vesanto Melina, RD, has submitted our first article--on
vegetarian holiday diplomacy--and we thank her.
If you're a representative of a local vegetarian group, please
contact VUNA on how you can access the article collection. We
anticipate information will be posted on the VUNA web site (www.ivu.org/vuna).
Please don't hesitate to contact me (e-mail: wva@mbnet.mb.ca
or c/o Winnipeg Vegetarian Association, Box 2721, Winnipeg, Manitoba,
Canada, R3C 4B3) if you would like more information on this project.
