Not only is this restaurant specifically ALL VEGAN , it is also ALL ORGANIC, and also ALL RAW (based on the concept that the high heat applied in cooking foods can diminish or destroy a considerable amount of a food's natural enzyme content and nutritional quality.)
This does not mean that this restaurant limits itself to a selection of organic salads and a variety of exotic organic fruit and vegetable juices and blended drink concoctions, although it certainly offers these.
The folks at the Raw Experience have some extremely creative recipes for raw vegan dishes such as pizza (using a dehydrated, not baked, pizza crust), a zucchini "pasta" and sauce, avocado sushi, vegetable "stir no-fry", fudge un-cookies, and many other menu items, although not all menu items might be available all the time.
At the present time this restaurant is operating as "The Book Storm" at 107 - 912 Portage Ave. as a combination bookstore/restaurant concept, but in May they will move to their new location on Osborne St., and concentrate more on the restaurant and let go of the books.
The menu for the WVA dinner will include a gourmet organic salad, a delicious vegan lasagna, and a rich, vegan "cheesecake" for dessert (the cheesecake is made using raw organic cashews, and must be tasted to be believed).
(Please keep in mind that organic food tends to be more expensive than regular commercial produce, and some of the more complicated gourmet raw food recipes can be quite labour intensive to produce as well.)
